CLENZA

PRIVACY

Your details, handled plainly.

What we collect, why, who processes it and what your rights are, written to be read, not skimmed past.

1. Who we are

Clenza is a domestic cleaning business based in Chorley, England, run as a sole trader. Clenza is the "data controller" for the information described here, which simply means we decide how it is used and we are responsible for looking after it.

For anything about your data, email hello@clenza.co.uk.

2. What we collect

We only collect what we need to quote for and carry out cleans:

  • Contact details: your name, email address and phone number
  • Your address and postcode, so we know where to clean
  • Property details you add to your account, such as rooms and their types
  • Booking details and history: the type of clean, bedrooms, frequency, add-ons, dates and prices
  • Access notes (for example a key-safe location or alarm instructions) and, if you choose to add one, a photo of where the key is
  • Notes and messages you send us, including requests to move or skip a clean
  • Photos you choose to send us when asking for a quote
  • Before-and-after photos of the work, only where you have given consent
  • Payment records: payments are handled by Stripe, and your card number never touches our servers

We do not collect anything else in the background, we never buy data about you from anyone, and we never sell your data.

3. Why we use it, and the lawful bases

UK data protection law (UK GDPR) says we need a lawful basis for each use of your data. Ours are plain:

  • Contract: pricing your clean, booking it in, getting into the property, taking payment and running your account. This is what is needed to do the job you asked for.
  • Legitimate interest: service emails and messages about your bookings (confirmations, changes, receipts, payment problems) and keeping honest business records.
  • Consent: quote photos you send us, before-and-after photos, the optional key-location photo, and any marketing. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
  • Legal obligation: keeping booking and payment records for the periods UK tax law requires.

We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked for them.

4. Who handles it for us

Like most small businesses, we use a few trusted services to run things. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:

  • Supabase: our database and photo storage, and the sign-in for your account (SMS codes and email links)
  • Stripe: card payments and saved cards; your card details go to Stripe, not to us, and card numbers never touch our servers
  • Resend: sending emails such as confirmations, receipts and replies
  • Google Maps: address search at booking; what you type in the address box is sent to Google to suggest addresses
  • Vercel: hosting the website itself

Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on recognised safeguards for UK businesses, such as the UK data bridge and standard contractual clauses.

5. Photos & consent

Photos you send for a quote are used to price the job and kept with the quote so we can check the work against them.

Before-and-after photos of a clean are only taken with the consent you give at booking, and are used for our private job records. They are only ever shared publicly (for example on social media) if you have given the separate, explicit marketing consent, and never with anything identifying your address.

The optional key-location photo in your account is stored privately, is visible only to you and to us, and you can remove it yourself at any time.

You can withdraw any of these consents at any time by emailing us, and we will stop using the photos and delete them on request.

6. How long we keep it

Booking and payment records are kept for six years, because UK tax rules require it. Quote requests that never become a booking, and their photos, are deleted within twelve months.

Your account details, property details and the key-location photo are kept while you have an account, and deleted when you ask us to close it.

If you ask us to delete your data, we will delete everything we are not legally required to keep.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can, at any time:

  • Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
  • Ask us to delete your data (subject to the records we must keep for tax)
  • Object to or restrict how we use it
  • Ask for your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw any consent you have given, such as for photos

Just email hello@clenza.co.uk. No forms, no fuss, and no charge. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), the UK regulator.

8. Cookies

The website uses only essential cookies: the ones that keep you signed in to your account. There are no analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

The price builder remembers your in-progress quote in your browser's local storage. That stays on your device and is not sent anywhere until you book.

9. Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date below. Significant changes will be flagged to existing customers by email.

Last updated 24 August 2026. This notice is a plain-English summary of how we handle your data, written to be read. It is not a substitute for tailored legal advice.
